BERLIN (AP) — André Castro scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time for Braga to snatch a 3-2 win at Union Berlin in the German team’s first home game in the Champions League on Tuesday.Sheraldo Becker scored twice to give dominant Union a two-goal lead, but Sikou Niakaté scored before the break, Bruma equalized soon after it, and Braga substitute Castro scored with the last attack of the game for the visitors to leave Union ruing another late defeat.Union also conceded late to lose 1-0 at Real Madrid in its tournament debut.On German Unity Day, Union – a former East German club — crossed the former divide to play its first home game in the Champions League in what was West Berlin. Potomac Electric Power Company, or Pepco, agreed to a $57 million settlement with the D.C. Office of the Attorney General on Tuesday to resolve allegations of toxic chemical discharge at its Buzzard Point and Benning Road Northeast facilities.The District contends the power company’s actions resulted in persistent toxic pollution of the Anacostia River.Under terms of the settlement, Pepco will pay $47 million toward cleanup for the Anacostia River, and $10 million in penalties.The settlement also requires Pepco to clean up contamination at its Buzzard Point and Benning Road facilities and investigate environmental impact.“We’re going to continue to monitor Pepco to ensure that they don’t just pass those costs on to ratepayers,” said D.C. The House voted Tuesday to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), a vote that hasn't taken place in more than 100 years.Rep. Police arrested a man who was caught on surveillance video looking and taking pictures through the windows of a South Florida home. The couple who lives at the home told 7News they were glad that police were able to make an arrest. From the surveillance footage, the suspect was seen creeping around the couple’s home at the 2200 block of Johnson Street in Hollywood. After checking their cameras, the couple realized that the suspect was poking around the front of their home, peeking through windows and was taking pictures with his cellphone. The couple said that their cameras caught the suspect doing the same thing for three consecutive nights. On the third night, they found the suspect hiding near the front of their home.After calling police, officers began tracking him down and were able to take 27-year-old Mckenzie Hoosier into custody. Officers said Hoosier was hiding in some bushes across the street. Firefighters were on scene in Wayland Tuesday afternoon as a large fire burned through a building off Main Street. The building houses several businesses including a pizza shop, a cleaning business and an auto-body shop. The fire appeared to center around the auto-body shop.Large flames were seen shooting out of the building as smoke billowed into the sky. In addition to the building, the fire spread to a car parked nearby shortly after 4 p.m. A utility wire also appeared to have fallen outside the building, scattering sparks around a parking area. Numerous firefighters were seen attacking the fire from several angles. By 5 p.m., crews were making progress in efforts to contain the fire, though flames and heavy smoke were still visible. Main Street in the area was closed as of 5 p.m. as crews stretched hoses and other equipment across the street, toward the fire. No further information was immediately available. Lakeville police have released body camera video showing the confrontation that led to an officer-involved shooting last week.Police said the incident started around 3:45 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Precinct and Pickens Street where a Lakeville police officer had been monitoring traffic. Police in a statement this week said 45-year-old Timothy Hladik allegedly approached the officer and confronted him with what was later determined to be a replica gun.Police said the officer drew his weapon, got out of his cruiser and ordered Hladik to drop the object. While the confrontation continued, police said an off-duty Massachusetts State Police trooper driving by stopped to help the officer. “During the exchange, Hladik repeatedly used threatening language, and then allegedly took an aggressive stance and raised the weapon,” police said. “At this time, fearing for their safety, both officers fired, striking Hladik.”Police said Hladik was shot several times. Emergency crews responded in Weston Tuesday after a truck caught fire on I-95 north. SKY7-HD was over the scene shortly before 4 p.m. where the vehicle could be seen fully engulfed in flames. The fire was taking place roughly one mile south of the Mass Pike. Firefighters were spotted working to get the situation under control as traffic backed up behind the fire and the emergency response to it.
