Brian Doyle, the former Santa Clara city attorney, has filed suit against the city two years after his firing, saying that the Santa Clara City Council terminated him unlawfully and in retaliation for whistleblowing.Doyle was critical of the San Francisco 49ers management of Levi’s Stadium, saying in his lawsuit that he worked “to hold the San Francisco 49ers to account.” He said that since his termination he has had difficulty finding work and that when hired as interim city attorney in Merced in June it was for less money than the $332,796 he was paid in 2021.Read the full story about the lawsuit filed against the city. (BCN) -- A panel of federal appellate judges Tuesday left in place a lower court order that bars San Francisco from using the city's laws against sleeping on the streets to prosecute people who are involuntarily homeless. The short 93-word order resolves, at least for the time being, the city's motion to modify the lower court injunction while the city pursues its appeal of that ruling. The appeals court said its decision was "without prejudice," meaning the city can renew the motion at a later date if circumstances warrant. While both sides characterized the ruling as helpful to their positions, the order appears to kick the most contentious issues down the road for later resolution. (CNN) — US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived in Kyiv Wednesday on what is his third trip to the Ukrainian capital since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, seeking to double down on US support for Kyiv’s counteroffensive and make the political case back home that the US needs to commit billions of dollars more to help defeat Vladmir Putin.Blinken said the US is “determined to continue to walk side-by-side” with Ukraine when he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, as he called the country’s progress in the counteroffensive “very, very encouraging.”Zelensky said it is always a “great message of support” for Ukraine when US officials visit, noting that this is a “tough period” for his country. The visit comes as Ukraine’s counteroffensive moves into its fourth month, with both political and military leaders in Kyiv talking up recent gains, especially in the south of the country, following growing concerns the concerted push on the battlefield has failed to produce resul...Federal safety regulators push to recall 52 million air bags

The air bags were built by ARC and by Delphi between 2000 and 2018. About 11 million of the air bags were manufactured by Delphi under a licensing agreement with ARC.They are included in vehicles built by General Motors, Ford, Stellantis, Tesla, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Volkswagen. NHTSA did not release exact models containing the air bags, saying that will be determined by the manufacturers. It also did not give an estimate for how many vehicles contain the air bags, since most vehicles have multiple air bags....Latest news
