AUSTIN (KXAN) — City of Austin and Travis County leaders on Wednesday morning will discuss heat preparedness and safety tips as temperatures are forecasted to continue climbing above 100° for the next seven days. City and county leaders will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on heat preparedness and safety due to the extreme heat conditions Central Texas is under. WARROAD, Minn. — The Warroad School Board is collecting material to request an exemption under a new Minnesota law banning the use of American Indian mascots in most Minnesota public schools. If approved, Warroad Public Schools will be able to continue the use of its Warroad Warriors logo and nickname.On May 24, Gov. Tim Walz signed an omnibus education policy and finance bill that included a provision banning the use of American Indian mascots at public schools starting Sept. 1, 2025. ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Knox man was arrested on Tuesday for lighting two abandoned cars on fire, burglary, and criminal mischief, according to the Albany County Sheriff's Office. On Tuesday, around 10:34 a.m., deputies responded to Knox Cave Road for a criminal mischief complaint. Following an investigation, deputies say Barnes committed criminal mischief to a mailbox belonging to the resident of the caller. Barnes was later found at his home.
