35-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Bethany Home RoadPHOENIX, AZ (August 23, 2023) – Friday evening, Rolando Osuna Rubio was killed in a fiery car accident on 33rd Avenue.Officers responded to the scene around 9:00 p.m., near Bethany Home Road on August 18th.Per reports, Rubio was heading west on Bethany Home Road when he veered into oncoming lanes for reasons unknown.There, the wrong-way vehicle struck an eastbound car head-on. Upon impact, one of the vehicles became engulfed in flames.Firefighters arrived and immediately extinguished the flames. Due to extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the driver of the burning vehicle, 35-year-old Rubio, dead at the scene.Meanwhile, paramedics transported the female driver of the other vehicle to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
